Reference photos

I need a good reference photo to work from. It's important that I can see the details of the eyes and the fur clearly. Good natural lighting works best, whether from a window or outside. The animal doesn't necessarily have to look straight in to the camera, other angles can be just as beautiful depending on the type of animal or breed I'm drawing.

If you're unsure what photograph will work best, feel free to send me a collection to choose from. Mobile photos can work just as good as a professional photo, as long as the resolution and quality is good enough. In some cases it might be necassary to have an additional photo if some of the details are lost in the main photo.

Some times our beloved pets leave us before we have the chance to capture a perfect photograph of them. In these cases, I will of course do my best to create a beautiful memorial portrait with the photos you can provide.

Booking your portrait

Once you are ready to book your personal piece of artwork, e-mail the photos and information to ninasolstice@gmail.com. Please feel free to tell me a little bit about your pet, like their name, age, personality traits or maybe even their story. This helps me to capture them as realistically as possible, and I love knowing more about the animals I draw.

Before I start drawing, I require a deposit of 50% of the final cost. This is to ensure only serious enquiries are booked. I spend about 30 hours on an A4 size portrait, so there might be some waiting time. I will do my best to give you an estimation on when you can expect the drawing to be finished.

I usually post progress photos on my instagram story, if you would like to follow the process! Once the drawing is finished, I will send you a number of high quality photos. When we are both happy with the result, the final payment can be made.

The artwork will be packaged securely, and posted by mail along with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
